Mark 4 – The Clearly Explained Version

Mark 4

The Clearly Explained Version – Parables, Analogies, and Symbols Replaced

1 Jesus got on a boat, and sat down to teach the enormous audience that gathered to him on the seashore. 2 And he taught the following using a story, the magnificence of His Doctrine. 3 Listen, from your mouth the word goes to say something, 4 And it came to pass as the word was spoken, others indeed where busy or to far away and the saying was not heard and so it was lost, 5 And other sayings where spoken to those whose did not care about what was being said, so though it appeared that there was joy at the saying it was not remembered 6 and later in the time that the saying was tested, the error was made since it was not remembered and the persons attitude fell, 7 And other saying where spoken to those who where busy with worries and so became irritated and chocked it short so the saying did nothing, 8 Some sayings however where heard and brought many opportunities for Love, Peace, and Joy, for some 30, 60, or even 100 opportunities.

9. And he said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear this.” 10 and when he was alone the ones around him and the twelve asked him about the meaning of the story. 11 and he said to them. “Unto you it has been given to know the mystery of the Kingdom of God, but unto them that are without, all these things are done in story form. 12 That seeing they may see and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand lest at anytime they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

21 And he said to them in a way, “I did not come to the world so that these teachings would be hidden away as a secret. Instead so that they would be held up high letting all know. 22 For nothing is hidden if meant to be revealed, neither a secret thing has taken place, but that it should become publicly known. 23 Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear this.”

24 “Consider carefully what you are hearing,” he continued in a way. “With the level of importance you consider this teaching, that is how important you will be considered, and more will be added to you. 25 Whoever indeed may hear, understanding will be given; and whoever does not hear, even that has will be taken away.”

26 He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man speaks sayings to those around. 27 Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the sayings spread and understanding grows, though he does not know how. 28 All by itself the hearers produce Love, Peace, and Joy — all in stages of understanding, until the full understanding is in the head. 29 As soon as the listener understands, the result can be seen, because the truth of the matter is known.”

30 Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what story shall we use to describe it? 31 It is like an understanding, which is the smallest of all understandings on earth. 32 Yet when it is heard, it develops and becomes the most important thought of all that persons thoughts, with the ability to offer rest to all of the other thoughts in the persons mind protecting them from the heat that causes a person to become angry.”

33 With many similar stories Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand. 34 He did not say anything to them without using a story. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything.
